The Sky+ box is one of the best purchases I have ever made! It is a digital hard drive that allows you to record programmes, and save them for as long as you like without the problems of having to worry about video tapes or DVDs and recording over other things. The usual on-screen Sky TV guide has the option to press record for up to 40 hours worth of TV. You can record two programmes at the same time, and either watch one of them while recording or watch something else that you have recorded previously. You can series link a programme so that you don't miss anything in the series. If there is something you particularly want to keep, it is a good idea to select 'keep' as an option so that you cannot accidentally delete it. Also with Sky+ you can pause and rewind live TV so that if the doorbell goes you don't have to miss anything that you are watching. You can send a text from your mobile phone to ask Sky to record something if you have forgotten to select it on the TV set (although I haven't worked out how to do this yet). You can record a Sky box office movie and have a week to watch it. All this costs only an extra £10 a month on top of your usual Sky bill, which seems great value to me.
