Advantages: Recording and watching at your onw leisure

Disadvantages: When programmes do not record

This product is an absolute god send that has helped alleviate so many arguments between the Mrs and I when programs that she likes clashes with mine.

Sky Plus allows you to record TV programmes at any time of the day, allowing you to record two programmes at the same time. The recordings are then saved onto the sky hard drive, which allows you to view the programme at your own leisure, however, some restrictions apply.

You can also programme your set to have a series link, where the box will automatically record all episodes of a series that you are watching, this is great because of the amount of times I have forgotten to record a programme.

As with all sky systems, there are good parental controls allowing you to block channels that are not deemed suitable for children. Further, when watching from a recording, a show that normally takes one hour to watch at normal time, like Prison Break, can be cut down to 40 minutes by fast forwarding the adverts.

The only negative comment is that sometimes the set may not record the entire program that you wanted recorded, this could be due to various factors, such as bad weather which could have disturbed the sky network.

Further, if you are recording two programmes at the same time and you want to watch tv, you will have to watch one of those programmes at that time as the systems does not allow you to view a third channel and record on two separate channels eg If I want to record something on Sky 1 and Sky 2 at 7pm, but want to watch sky sports as well, I will not be allowed to do that, I would have to watch sk1 or sky2 while having them both on record and not forfeit watching sky sports.

Summary: Brilliant product by Sky, absolute arguments buster and time saver

If we want to tape two things but don't want to watch either of them, we just go to sky anytime or our planner and watch something on there. I am moving to uni in september and the hardest thing I'm gonna have to do is leave my sky + box behind. :D Brill review. Kirst x
