Advantages: can record 2 channels at once, handy series link button, pause live tv

Disadvantages: can't watch a third channel if 2 programmes are being recorded

My sky+ has been a revelation as far as I'm concerned... I adore it! Combining a digital recorder and the sky box in one was a genuis idea - so many arguments in our house have been solved with this machine!

2 programmes can be recorded simultaneously which is good if you're off out and programmes clash, but unfortunately if you're home and have 3 programmes you want to watch that's not gonna happen as you can't record 2 channels and watch a third (however most things on most sky channels are repeated over and over so this has never been much of a problem)

The sky+ recorder can hold about 40 hours of programmes and has a handy percentage indicator to let you know how much memory you have left. Most films take around 5% i've found so there's plenty of room for lots of things - great if you're off on holiday and don't want to miss the soaps for example! PLus the handy series link option means you can set the machine to record the whole series at the touch of a button!

I love the pause and rewind function too... handy for vital bits of info in films or programmes, or if someone comes to the door or the phone rings...

I wouldn't be without sky+ now....

Summary: A household must for 21st Century telly addicts!

What a nightmare, but we've never had a problem with ours in nearly 2 years..

It's a very useful and very easy-to-use service. However, the boxes can break down very easily. We're on our fourth in just two or three years.
