How is watching TV possible without Sky plus??!!!
Having been a Sky customer for a number of years I was really excited when I heard about Sky plus and couldn't wait to have it installed. What I was extremely disappointed about was the promotinal offers and deals that were available to non-Sky customers. Incentives such as free Sky plus boxes, discounted subscribtions, free installations were all offered to non-Sky customers, but to us fools who have been handing over the money month in month out, year in year out were told there were no special deals for exisiting customers and I could upgrade to Sky plus by paying full price and installation for the privillege. Bloody cheek!!! Having discussed this with some friends I was advised I should cancel my subscription, but I really did want the holy grail of TV viewing. In fact one friend suggested I should threaten canceling my subscription in the hope that they would be so worried about losing me they would offer me a deal. This I tried but the people of Sky were having none of it. In the end I think I ended up forking out £99 for my new box.
Problems with that aside it is a really good way of watvhing TV. It records programmes and stores them on the hard-drive so there's no fiddling with tapes and DVDs. Although I di think the memory could be bigger. Also it has a series link button so you only have to set it to record the first episode and then it will receord the whole series (unless there's a power cut, which I guess isn't Skys fault). Pausing and rewinding live TV is also another amazing factor of Sky plus, although I feel I've deprived my kids of simple TV watching and they can't understand why they can't pause the TV if they go round to their non-Sky+-subscribing gransparents!
