Being from Canada i've had tv services like sky+ for a while before I moved to the UK. For the first year I was here I didn't have any TV services but freeview and I have to say I really did miss having so many channels. Last year I signed up for sky+ for the first time and was very pleased with everything it has to offer. They are constantly updating and it always seems to be getting even better. It has so many features that you don't get with normal freeview or other services:
- 100's of channels, literally something for everyone at every time (home & lifestyle, cooking, documentaries, history, discovery & nat geo, kids, movies, sports, lifestyle and HD, depending on what packages you get)
- Search button on remote allowing you to search for specific shows on the guide, on demand and in your recordings planner
- Sky+ On demand service, (the best part) which providing you have your sky box attached to a broadband connection, allows you to catch up with your favourite shows, download thousands of movies and tv shows for free and if you subscribe to HD you can download them all in HD, the download speed is very quick for us, it only takes 30 seconds to a minute before a movie or show is available to watch
- The box office where you can rent new movies for 24 hrs, each movie costs around 3-5 pounds

Sky+ also has the app now where you can access the guide and record any shows you want to watch through your phone so they're there recorded for you when you get home (really handy). I moved house once already with sky using their move home service and it was also really easy to set up and got done very quick. I do have to admit though that while we didn't have sky for that week of moving we truly missed it, it wasn't the same without it. I got the broadband, tv and phone service as a package and the broadband and tv has also been really good. Never any problems, the internet is always quick, I have friends in the same area who are with orange and their broadband is so slow it's ridiculous compared to our sky. I highly recommend sky+ to everyone.
