Sky Sports News is available twenty four hours a day and I get to view this through Virgin Media.

I do not subscribe to Sky Sports as I work and don't think I would get the best value for money from it....for the past year or so, Virgin Media did not have SKy Sports due to an ongoing argument abou tthe charges Sky charged Virgin for the rights to view this channel.

I was very glad to see that it was back though at the start of this year and have regularly tuned into it since it arrived back on our screens.

Sky Sports follows a similar format to Sky News, they have regular updates every fifteen minutes during most of the day and presenters always seem to have an electrical current through them...everything is hyper sensationalised...which is tricky when they are reporting on sports like netball!

They cover a huge range of sports throughout the day, recently at the gym I watched the bulletins and the scrolling updates at the bottom of the screen and was amazed to see Football, Rugby, Basketball, American Football, Horse Racing and Swimming. It really does cater for everyone.

The best thing on the channel however has to be the live coverage of the football. If you don't subscribe to the Sports Channels, the news is the next best thing. Gillette Soccer Special takes place on busy match days.

I enjoy watching it with my dad when he comes to visit. The commentators, usually retired footballers are full of energy and enthusiasm, with one ear on the presenter and one on the game...it is really funny to watch! They give bang up to date information on the game and if anything happens (and I do mean anything) they go live to the match straight away. You don't get to see the game, but you do get the feedback and opinions of the commentators straight away. This evening when I was watching it, they cut straight to one match where bad weather was going to bring the game to an abrupt ending. I liked how they did this as it made me feel that I was a part of the game.

The graphics, visuals, statistics and commentators all make the channel addictive. It is good to watch, full of information...and guaranteed to keep the football fans in your house quite for hours!

Summary: Watch it if only for the comedy!
