Advantages: Up to date information, informative news, good presenters/reporters

Disadvantages: None

Sky Sports News is a cable channel which is on 24 hours a day and covers all areas of sports from volleyball to boxing and everything in between. This is the number one channel to get your sports news as and when it happens. It covers all major tournaments and shows highlights of all the big sporting events. As it is a Sky channel you are treated to the best highlights and see exclusive footage straight after the event to capture the highs and lows of the sports people.

There are constant updates which are shown beneath the presenters on screen, keeping you up to date with all the latest news for all big things going on in the world of sport. Just underneath this is one of the main reasons I watch this channel all the time and a fantastic feature with the channel - the breaking news bar where you are treated to the latest transfers, tournament wins, rule breaks, etc. and you will always find the most knowledgeable people commenting on the story and giving their input.

The one problem you could find with this channel is that you can end up seeing the same thing over and over again but if you turn over and tune in after a half hour period there is bound to be another big story that is emerging from the world of sport. There are always stories from the sporting world that go from the sublime to the stupid and covers things such as dog surfing and pigeon racing so the lighter side of the sporting world is also featured.

The biggest plus for me is the score centre which I love to watch as it keeps me up to date with the latest scores. They have some really good characters on the show who, with their passion for the game, make it a very good piece of television. Pundits include Paul Merson, Phil Thompson, and Matt Le Tisser to name a few who have had their fair share of banter and you can find this feature on every Saturday and also when there are a fair few teams playing in English cup competitions or in European competitions.

The last note on this is on the presenters who I find to all be very sports savvy and do their jobs very well - and with a few of the ladies who are very nice looking it adds to getting my attention!

Overall if you are a sports fan looking for the most up to date and in depth channel for all things active this is the place to go.

Summary: The best sports news channel around
