Sky Sports News is undoubtedly my favourite TV channel. Formerly known as Sky Sports.com TV, channel 413 has been a permanent addition to my 'favourites' ever since I got Sky Digital in March last year. Whenever I get into the house, no matter where I have been, I head straight for the TV and onto Sky Sports News. It really is the definitive guide to all of the latest sports news - better than teletext and your radio.

Sky Sports News provides 24 hour sports news, seven days a week and has a wealth of information available at a glance when you turn on your TV screen. At the very bottom of your screen, you will get a news ticker with the latest snippets of information - and on turning on the TV this is often enough to get you intrigued as you read about the latest transfers, bust ups and injury news.

Just above that is a scrolling marquee which reveals the top breaking news story as and when it happens, to make sure you don't miss out on what's going on. And when things get a little bit dull, this is replaced with all the latest fixtures and results, with goal or team news as appropriate.

As if that's not enough, the right hand side of the screen has the latest league tables, attendance statistics and top goalscorers for all Scottish and English divisions, as well as the top European and Champions League news.

This in itself makes for a good channel, but is accompanied by the newsreaders giving the viewer the top stories for the day. Here, you'll get all the latest transfer news, the top interviews from the people that matter and on occasion, you'll get phone interviews with insiders in a latest development.

The only gripe with Sky Sports News is that if you watch it for hours at a time, you'll get bored as it is often the same information over and over again. But that's not the channel's fault - there is a limit to how much sports news can occur in a day.
