Advantages: You like to watch pop videos?

Disadvantages: Well you’re going to have to wait a while for a decent effort.

So they’ve got rid of that nasty glossy sheen that has bogged it down since it’s existence around a month ago but still it cannot improve it’s output. Alongside two new ‘rivals’ in the form of Q and Kiss, The Box now probably intends on reaching out to the teenybopper audience of which there are many and who probably don’t understand the concept of the fact that it costs 60p per minute. Add to that there is no guarantee that you will see the video you chose at a time you want it to be shown as well as that many other people also have the same idea does not make this a channel you would religiously watch (unless of course, YOU ARE one of those callers).

Although MTV only has a select number of videos they’ll show, at least with The Box you might catch up on a video you wanted to watch but missed out on previously. But with the numbers of other videos trailed across the bottom of the screen and the ludicrous gimmick of putting the three digit code inputs of punters in the bottom right that graffiti the screen does not make it a great experience.

What is the most killing point of all is that you have to pay to watch it (it’s not a stand alone channel like Q!) which could mean anything as £7 a month upwards if you have Sky Digital.
