When i first noticed this Channel advertised it made me laugh. What sort of channel is this going to be if its called Dave. It's got to be something funny, I call all my mates Dave whether they are male or female.. don't ask!

UKTV G2 channel rebranded this channel back in October last year. They did this to attract a better target audience of younger people and that is something that it has certainly done. The method behind the madness of the name change is purely becasue the broadcasters believed that everyone new someone called Dave and thought it would catch people attention, that is what it has done, it certainly has mine anyway.

Dave is on air from 7am in the morning to 3am and is available on channel 126 (virgin ntl), freeview channel 19, virgin telewest 125 and sky channel 111. The channel itself is a comedy and factual entertainment and consists of programme like Never Mind the Buzzcocks and Top Gear. I find myself watching Top Gear on a loop and if I miss one, not sure if you all have this but I have Dave +1 so I can catch up with what I have missed on there.

Certainly when flicking through the channels it is something appealing as the advertising campaign for the channel just stands out like a sore thumb, and is fantastic in its own rights, its one of the only channels that to be honest sticks in my mind purely because of its advertising campaign. Aimed to the male audience of the ages 18-34, I think they have conquered this completely as everyone i have spoke to is fully aware of the channel and in additional no only have they conquered there target audience, they have been able to attracts the female variety and also older generation which to me is a good well done.

The only downfall, which I would not call it a downfall because I love Top Gear so much, is that I think they should have more variety on there, but all in all......nice one Dave!!!!!
