Advantages: great shows, always something to watch

On the 15th October 2007 UKTV G2 (what a mouthful) changed to the channel all men know and love, Dave. They chose this name because apparently everyman knows a bloke called Dave, which is quite true, although I still don't understand for calling the channel Dave! The channel airs daily from 7am to 3am and is available on Freeview, so everyone should be able to watch it. It manages to attract approximately three million viewers daily, significantly better than UKTV G2 did.

The rebranding devised a channel aimed mainly at men, featuring shows mainly about cars and comedy, which has proved a real hit with viewers. The most watched shows are Q.I., Top Gear, Dragons Den and Red Bull X Fighters, and I love them all. Below is a list of the programmes currently shown on Dave, next to each I have given a star rating out of five, signifying how good I believe the show to be.

The best shows in my opinion shown on Dave are the classics and the ones which most men would agree they like to watch, Top Gear, Q.I., Friday Night with Johnathan Ross (although it can be annoying when you've seen it already) and Dragons Den; these shows basically have everything you could want.

If you're bored at home and just randomly flicking through the television channels then I would definitely recommend tuning into Dave because there is normally something worth watching on. I don't know many women that watch it from experience, but maybe you'll like it too, so why not give it ago?
