Advantages: chance to catch up on BBC programmes you may have missed

Disadvantages: Little new programming

We only have freeview in our house (i know we are probably the only people on the planet who don't have sky !! - well that what my children say anyway!!) so when this started on freeview a couple of years ago we gave it a watch. Basically it is a station which consists of a lot of old BBC programmes with the odd film thrown in for good measure late at night.

Its tag line is "the home of witty banter". I think this is probably not quite true - I think the home of Top Gear and the top gear team might be more appropriate. You tend to find that the majority of the programming especially at weekends consists of very old re-runs from Jeremy Clarkson either Top Gear or jeremy Clarksons Extreme machines and then if you haven't quite had enough car info there is alway fifth Gear.

The evening programming does tend to be a bit more varied with programmes as diverse as 'Mock the week', 'Never mind the Buzzcocks' and 'Dragons Den'.

There are a couple of original programmes but they are so rare I can't even remember what they were called as I never managed to see them when they were on.

There is also a Dave +1 channel now so just in case you are late for the repeated Top Gear you can catch it later.

This channel is Ok for those wet sunday afternoons when you fancy blobbing out while having your dinner.
