No to TV License (TV Licence)

A TV License is the bain of everyones life. Why do we have to pay to watch TV, we have alreay paid for our TV, but it is a legal requirement to TV, and the money you pay if terrible. At £140 for a colour TV, it works out at around £12 a month, but in credit crunch, you could save a lot.

I suppose the only good thing about the TV license is that, like most people these days, if you own more than one TV in your home, you only have to pay the fee for your home not per TV, can you imagine if you did, it would cost a fortune. Some people do say that the fee isnt that much when you think about other charges, such as SKY, but I would still rather not pay it.

The money you pay goes to the BBC, which angers me more than anything else. What about all of the other TV channels, and lets face it, BBC only offer a couple of decent quality Tv shows, compared to other channels such as ITV or channel 4. But before I go on, I am definitely not saying that every other tv channel should start charging fees. The whole reason why the BBC charge this fee is because they dont recieve any income from adverts, simply because they dont have any, which is one thing that I do agree with, I hate adverts, they just interupt. If you take a closer look at a TV license and the BBC, you will find that the government owns it, and in my opinion, it is just another way for the governemtn to take more of our hard earned cash away from us.


Like I said before, I hate adverts, but I would much rather sits through a show with breaks for them than pay the tv license fee, and that is saying something. If all of the other channels do, why dont they. If I am honest with myself, I dont think that the TV license will ever be taken away, it just generates too much income for the BBC and the GOVERNMENT, even though I think that it should be. When I think about it, there are loads of other things that I can think of that I could spend that money on. In conclusion, the TV license is a terrible thing, and even though I know it will be with us for the future, I think it should be suspended, at least until the recession is over.
