Advantages: CHEAP
Disadvantages: NO sport
I think the License fee is more than fair considering what is available on their two channels.None of this commercial Robson Greene drama pap you are fed after a diet of "This is how you should live your life soaps". I know educational and documentary stuff can be a bit tedious but at least its nearer the reality of life than the constant feed on the commercial stations. I think we should congratulate the much criticized BBC sport department by securing the exclusive rights to The Worlds Strongest Man competition for the next five years. Its a real treat to see the steroid monkeys throwing boulders around in a tropical paradise as the air at home is thick with the odor of christmas wind. With only the second string darts tournament and some crap rugby enjoyed by one percent of the nation this contract is a real lifeline to the ailing network. There's also talk of Match of the Conference in a couple of years time where we can see all the action from the days football conference games played on Saturday.Perhaps they could move their flagship sports programme "Robot Wars"just before it to whack up ratings. Still it may seem like ages to wait for the World snooker championship s on BBC but we can still sit back and watch the real heavy weights throw those little arrow things in to the cork before necking another pint as the wife screams in approval shaking the silver jewelry around tattooed arms at another treble twenty by the man of the house.
