Advantages: quality output

Disadvantages: expensive

Its well worth the money to have a national broadcasting corporation. You just have to look at the television output of other countries to appreciate ours. By us paying the money, this gives everyonre a say in how the BBC is run, hence the continual public comment. If we weren't paying, we would have no justification to complain about standards, at least this way quality is always being monitored, and not allowed to drop. When the BBC spend wisely, eg Walking with Dinosaurs, a classic, this is evidence the license fee works
