I think the BBC should have a big think regarding this because they are losing the war. ITV pulls in bigger crowds due to the fact they have more money to spend due to advertising. Sky T.V. is now more popular than BBC and ITV so that is even worse. I personally think that the BBC is the better channel as there programmes are better quality. ITV ... Read the complete review

Firstly I have a licence, I don't like paying for it because the only thing on BBC is Eastenders and the odd bit of rugby coverage. Everything else isn't worth watching. I also have satellite so pay for that too, because I watch it however similar to BBC sometimes you still struggle to find a programme worth watching. However ... Read the complete review

I sit really necessary to spend £100 every year to have a TV licence, which enables us to watch terrestrial television? The answer is yes and no. If we did not pay then it would mean that BBC which is the only channel I know that does not have adverts, would disappear, and it would make the revolution to digital television even quicker. ... What if we had the choice whether to pay a TV licence and continue receiving BBC the way it is now, or slowly fazing the licence out with the introduction of adverts instead. I think most people would decide to keep the money. Okay the BBC still has some of the best quality TV in the world, the problem is the TV licence needs to be ... Read the complete review

I was reading I think in one of the tabloids that the TV license is set to increase next year for people who have sky digital. As a sky digital subscriber I think that is absolutely ridiculous why should we have to pay three times. We pay for sky digital and we pay for our TV licence, why should we fund the BBC channels that frankly ... Read the complete review

This makes me mad - I have recently heard about the BBCs proposition to increase the Licence fee for those with the privilege of Digital Television - why I ask! The whole idea of the Television Licence - as I see it - is to pay for the BBC, which exists in the public sector, to provide a service for the British Public! And we all pay a ... Where on earth can I begin with a subject as juicy as this?! We all have to pay although not all of us do. Most of us watch BBC channels or listen to BBC radio at some point. Sky charge £32 a month (roughly three times the price of the TV license) but that’s for all of their channels. To be honest ... Read the complete review

I am undecided aas to if it is worth the money or not. I know that the licence is high and lets be honest we often turn the TV on and say oh there is nothing on again. My main grip is the amount of repeats we have to suffer, and if something is happening in a soap then they extend the amount shown each week, and still show it all again ... Read the complete review

I don't believe that people who subscribe to one of the cable or digital packages should have to pay for a TV License. People should have the chance to choose if they want to have the BBC channels and if they don't then they shouldn't have to pay. Alternativly the large cable and digital companies i.e. Sky, NTL, On Digital should pay ... Read the complete review

Praise has to be given to the BBC even though you have to pay the licence fee. The BBC is totally advert-free, allowing films and sport to not be interrupted. The quality of the BBC’s programmes is generally good though some of the things they do are a waste. Take BBC news 24, BBC America and BBC world for example; actually how many people ... I am sick to death of the quality of TV today. What do we get for our licence fee. They state we get all these local radio stations, national radio and two tv channels, fine. What about all the money that is wasted on perks for directors, new office blocks, fancy training programs and rubbish tv like the National Lottery Program. ... Read the complete review

I believe that the time has come for TV licences to be scrapped. Why should the population have to pay over £100 per household for just 2 of the vast number of channels now available? The reason is, BBC do not have commercial breaks. The adverts are shown on all of the commercial channels and I for one do not believe that they seriously ... Read the complete review

I think that if those tv companys out there only made the tv to receive all channels except BBC channels and that way we wouldnt have to pay for the tv licence and if you want BBC channels then you should be able to get a decoder so its possible to watch it (like digital tv). AT THIS TIME A TV LICENCE IS £108. its just to much ... Read the complete review

I think paying just over £100 for a tv licence is an absoloute disgrace. It wouldn`t be so bad if u actually got quality and value for money, instead of a load of old repeats and boaring programmes and documentarys. And as for the sports coverage it is non existant. the only good thing on the BBC is Eastenders, and the lack of adverts. ... Read the complete review

When it was introduced in the 1940's and only BBC existed. it did make sense to pay for what you were watching, and through the fifties, sixties and maybe seventies, the standard was high. They were prepared to spend vast budgets on making drama programmes which the whole family could watch and enjoy. In those days the dominating factor was not ... Read the complete review

I can't get my head round it? I pay £103 a year for the privelige of watching BBC 1 & 2 (which isn't much cop anyway) and £384 a year to subscribe to Sky Digital. I think that people in my position should maybe have the TV Licence cost abolished or at least half price. Also, people who just have terrestrial TV should maybe have ... Read the complete review

we have now entered a period whereby what you see is what you pay for. This worries me as I have resisted sattelie TV for so long. I think the Television Licence for the BBC is comparitivley fair when compared to what is being charged by the Sky brigade. I feel confident, although there is dross on the BBC, that the quality of ... Read the complete review

OK, we all moan about having to pay for our T.V licence, but when we actually think about the alternatives (adverts on every side, sponsorship etc) then we do get a fairly good deal. There are a number of ways to pay, so we don't have to fork the whole lot out at once, (I beleive the monthly fee is only £9), and if you are on income ... Read the complete review

This is one of those arguments which really has no resolution. Should there be a television licence payed by every person in this country who watches television programmes? Should this be paid by people who say that they do not even watch terrestrial television and never BBC programmes? Indeed, why does anyone really care about the somewhat ... Read the complete review
