Advantages: Lots of comedies

Disadvantages: lacks other genres/expensive channel

G.O.L.D, recently changed name from UK GOLD, is the main channel of UKTV and is not a free channel. It is available on free view but an additional fee is required. it is also available on sky, virgin media and Tiscili TV. The channel mainly shows lots of BBC comedies so if you are into comedy tv this channel is probably the one for you, it is one of my favorites.

G.O.L.D is one of my most watched channels because i am so addicted to comedies and if you are to, you will love it. This channel airs more of the comedy classics however and less of the modern comedies like scrubs for example. However G.O.LD does air lots of modern great films which is an extra seeing as you are paying for the channel. (I obtained the 'current programming' information from Wikipedia)

Not all the programs shown are comedies and i have seen some decent movies too that are fairly modern. I do not think this channel is worth paying the extra amount it requires when you get free view because it is really not worth it as it only shows the old programs and none of the new ones with brand new episodes. It would be perhaps worth flicking over to every now and again but certainly not paying for which i am confused as to why the require more money. Perhaps it is not very successful so needs people to pay i do not know.

The shows shown are mainly just repeats from BBC which i found disappointing. I would have liked the channel more if there were at least a few TV shows that were new and only available on UKTV G.O.L.D, that were also interesting. But hey they don't which is probably the reason many people do not know about the channel
