Advantages: Great for comedy as there are not many good new comedies

Disadvantages: Same programmes repeated over and over again

After the Sports Channels, UK Gold is my favourite Satellite channel. From the name you would expect a lot of old repeats which would not be a hit again on terrestrial TV. However, although this is the case for some shows, many programmes on UK Gold are also shown as repeats on terrestrial TV.
The following programmes show the quality and variety of UK Gold:-
>DRAMAS includes BBC hit DANGERFIELD and HOLBY CITY.
>STAND UP COMEDY from BEN ELTON.
>FILMS like THAT RIVIERA TOUCH (I have never seen it but I am sure that it is good!)
>SOAPS include re-runs of EASTENDERS and NEIGHBOURS.
>The strength of UK gold is the number of good SITCOMS. These include ONLY FOOLS AND HORSES, ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS and more recently MY HERO.
If this variety of programmes can not make a good television channel then I don't know what will.

Summary:
