The Dave Channel ... is the ultimate man channel. The channel basically focuses around playing replays of programmes such as top gear, fifth gear, dragons den, mock the week etc. The channel also shows clip shows with funny clips. Dave is available on freeview which is excellent as well as sky and virgin. It is a great channel to relax and watch on a sunday afternoon. The main problem with the channel is the fact that they constantly replay the same shows so you will most likely find yourself watching the same thing over and over. Compared to most of the poor channels to get with freeview Dave is actually good. There is another channel called Dave-Ja-Vu which basically plays the replays ... You have probably seen the chanel advertised with it s slogan of "Dave, the home of witty banter". Dave tends to show lots of old favourites, so when it first came out, I did watch it a lot to catch up with things that I hadn t watched for ages. The Dave Channel ... launched in 1998 as UK Gold Classics, then renamed UK Gold 2, then renamed UKTV G2 before finally being relaunched under its current moniker, channel Dave shows reruns of popular comedy and light entertainment shows. These are at least reasonably fresh, (by which I mean averaging a mere 3-5 years old) with the channel s current roster boasting Dragons Den , satirical news quiz, sketch show That Mitchell and Webb Look , Ray Mears Extreme Survival , standup comedy-showcase Live at the Appollo recent episodes of both Fifth Gear and Top Gear and the intelligent and entertaining general knowledge show QI hosted by Stephen Fry.
