Advantages: Excellent cinema

Disadvantages: Need to speak the language!

Having cable tv at home, you get offered the most bizzarre channels you would never otherwise see. Being of curious nature and finding entertainment anywhere I go, I booked Zee TV for a months trial. Not being a lingual expert, I have absolutley no idea whether it was Hindu or gibberish anyone was talking but I gave it a go anyway.

This is one of the most spectacular movie channels I think I have ever seen. Bollywood (Indian Hollywood) must the most productive cinema industries in the world. They had the whole shooting match on here. Low budget tin-foil-wrapped-around-cardboard-swords attrocities to wide screen epics that almost equal Ben Hurr and Spartacus. Fantastic lavish costumes, some extremely attractive Bollywood babes (belly dancing has certainly gone up in my estimation!) and very well executed musicals.

To be honest, I didn't understand a bloody word of it apart from the subtitled films but converting NTSC to PAL cuts the bottom off the film so you couldn't read half of that either. Even then, some very good films in excellent settings with enormous casts.

Well worth about £6.00 for a months alternative viewing.
