This is a reality TV show that rivals Big Brother in popularity however instead of using members of the public it features a host of celebrities (I use that term in a rather loose sense) who are dropped into the middle of the jungle and have to survive as a group. During the show at various stages celebrities are subject to a public vote and the one with the elast votes leaves the jungle. Given the primitive living conditions, lack of food and the number of rather stomach churning tasks they have to do it is probably a relief to get kicked out although as this show is a way for those once famous to try and refresh their careers most want to stay in.

The show is hosted by Ant and Dec and is shown on ITV in the form of a 1 hour recap with live streaming on E4. The actual jungle is in Australia and is an enclosed space, the celebs sleep in makeshift shelters and have to cook their ow food using an open fire. Rations are meagre and they have to complete what is known as bush tucker trials to win food.

These are the highlight of the show and the celeb who has to complete it is voted for by the public, often it involves eating horrible food or having creey crawlies poured over you or it may be a more physical challenge either way seeing the pampered celebs suffer is part of the enjoyment.

Although mostly D and C listers the celebs are often sprinkled with those we love to hate or once famnous now fallen on more barren times. In terms of memorable moments well the image of Carol Thatcher squatting to pee during the night in the middle of the campsite will live long in the memory although the most haunting long term image must be that through the show Jordan and Peter Andre met and married earning both significant amounts of money.

They have just announced the latest list for the new series, former royal flame Koo Stark will be appearing alongside Sex Pistol guru Malcolm Mclaren, Janet Dickinson a former model and some soap stars and boy band members who I have never heard of, the hate figure this year will probably be the trampy woman from The Apprentice or Christopher Biggins.

Not the greatest show in the world but one of those shows that tends to draw you in and Ant and Dec do a good job of presenting so I'm sure I will be tuning in.

Summary: Reality TV show
