2 point 4 Children never was the best sitcom in the world. But i quite enjoyed it. It was first shown way back in 1991 on BBC1 and ended in 1991, and ran for 8 series. It was written by Andrew Marshall. Starring Gary Olsen, Belinda Lang, Claire Buckfield, John Pickard, Julia Hills. This show was set in Chiswick in Londonand is based around a very abnormal family. I always watch this show when it's repeated on UK GOLD. They are lots of hilarious yet very childish scenes in this programme. Looking back you actually cringed at how far fetched some of it is, yet it's still funny. CAST Ben Porter- the dad, played lovely by Gary Olsen is a ...  Read the complete review

The "My Family" of the early 1990s, it is easy to see why 2.4 Children is now pretty dated. However, it is light-hearted, easy viewing with some terrfic acting from all concerned. Scripting is a little cliched at times and storylines are predictable but this doesn't pretend to be anything other than a non-challenging sitcom. The characters are all witty and far more memorable than any particualar episode plot. Belinda Lang was, and is, severely under-rated as an actor. She plays the part of Bill perfectly with a bittersweet storyline involving a man on a motorbike and some dry one-liners that are wonderfully delivered. My favourite ...  Read the complete review

Intro 2 Point 4 Children was written by Andrew Marshall and the name of the program is said to have been the average size of a family at the time in the UK, it is often considered Ben (the father) is a bit of a child too and that gives further strength to the name. The show basically revolves around the every day lives of a typical relatively middle-class family, seemingly simple things like buying a lottery ticket or using the internet are a bit of a taboo but normally happen ...  Read the complete review
