Advantages: Funny in places
Disadvantages: Not consistent
8 Out of 10 Cats is another of those comedy panel fgames in the same vein as Never Mind the Buzzcocks or Mock the Week however it is not as good nor as funny as either of these two shows.
The theme for the show is that it concentrates on market survey results as the basis for setting the questions and to allow the pannelists to come up with witty answers or comments. One of the problems I have with the show is that it is hosted by Jimmy Carr someone I'm not a big fan of as I do not find him that funny all of the time, he is not awful just that some of his jokes do not work.
There are two regular captains Sean Locke who is very good and Dave Spikey who appeared in Pheonix Nights which is one of my all time favourite comedy shows, the other two members of each team are either other comics or reality TV show contestants who are there to have the piss taken out of them or just to collect a fee for saying little.
The show itself is sporadically funny but lacks consistency and is a poor rlation to the excelent Have I Got News for You or Mock the Week.
Summary: Panel comedy show
