Advantages: Consistently Well Thought Out And Funny Satire

Disadvantages: Too Many Repeats Of It Pop Up

This is a satirical panel show on Channel 4 in the United Kingdom that is based on opinion polls relating to topical current affairs and media stories. It is hosted by Jimmy Carr. It has two teams of 3 players up against each other.

Each team has a team captain. The captains are currently Sean Locke and Jason Manford who replaced Dave Spikey.

I really love this television programme as I feel that its one of the few programmes left that is still producing good satirical comedy.

In recent times the likes of Have I Got News For You and QI in my opinion have totally gone down the pan and need freshening up by wholesale changes in panel personnel, by changing the format or by changing the scriptwriters/joke writers.

8 out of 10 cats appears to be based on ad libbing but in all likelihood a lot of the funny stuff will have been pre prepared and because it is not live a lot of "footage" will be left "on the cutting room floor" before the end broadcast of about 25 minutes is "put in the can".

Nevertheless this is a very good programme that is consistently funny.

P.S. I preferred Dave Spikeyto Jason Manford.
