8 Out of 10 Cats is the brilliant comedy quiz broadcast on Channel 4 on a Friday evening. It is hosted by the comedian Jimmy Carr with regular team captains Sean Lock and Jason Manford. The show is a quiz based on opinion polls and surveys, although the longest round "What Are You Talking About" is also based on topical news events. The each team has two guests plus the team capatins. The guests are usually comedians or television personalities.

Recently, the show has changed some episodes so that they do not concentrate on topical new, but instead have a theme. For exmaple, an episode has been based on movies, and instead of topical news themes used in the round "What Are You Talking About", it has been the films that people have been to see that the guests have to guess. This change could have been made to cut costs (as they can flim two episodes on one night instead of the day before broadcast to keep up with topical news stories) or so they can have people plugging things (for example, Tom Felton from Harry Potter was a guest on the movie special which advertised the lastest Harry Potter film).

Overall though, 8 Out of 10 Cats is a brilliantly funny program. Jimmy Carr and the Team Captains work well together and often play off eachother when telling jokes, the guests are also usually quite funny. I would definetly recommend this show to anybody.
