Advantages: Mr T makes the Day!
Disadvantages: No features that stand out
Take yourself back to the mid to late 1980’s, can you remember it? Think of those Saturday teatimes when you were sat watching the TV, and I’m not talking about Bulls eye or the Flying Doctors! YES, it’s the A-Team, probably the best TV show from the 80’s! And its now out on DVD for enjoyment for all the family. With their comic strip like fighting, and their great 80’s acting the A-Team was; Colonel John “Hannibal” Smith, played by George Peppard, Sergeant Bosco “B.A.” Baracas, played by Mr T, Lieutenant Templeton “Faceman” Peck, played by Kirk Benedict and the amazing Captain H.M. “Howling Mad” Murdock played by Dwight Schultz. When The A-Team had escaped from military prison, after being committed for a crime they did not commit, they hide in the Los Angeles underground, whilst doing favours for those who need them, The A-Team are good, fighting against Evil. Not only does the A-Team entertain with the way they go around their business, they also give a fair amount of humour. Although “B.A.” seems a serious, hard imaged character, he has his obsession with his jewellery and van, and when in one episode it gets stolen, you cant help but laugh at the way he reacts. As for “Howling Mad” Murdock, he just lives up to his name, ever episode he has an obsession with something different, like his precious little plant that might get hurt, whilst in B.A.’s stolen truck. If you don find the A-Team funny, you must have the strangest sense of humour possible! Although the DVD only contains three 50minute episodes, it is great value for money, in fact if you shop on the Internet you can get it for as little as £9.99, and I’m sure you’ll agree that it is well worth it! The three episodes are entitled; The Taxicab Wars, The Maltese Cow and Chopping spree. Although there are only these three episodes on this DVD, the volu
me two is due out on the 1st October 2001. The visual quality of the episodes is excellent; you wouldn’t really think they were so old. Even if you are too young to remember the A-Team, or you think you are too old, there is no reason not to buy it. If you can’t remember it, you can start off by watching this DVD and finding out how good TV used to be. If you think you are too old and people will laugh at you, say you bought it for someone, and you can watch it with them! The A-Team is a DVD not to miss, although it has no special features at all on it, due to the age of it, you don’t really need it, and you are not paying the full price of a film DVD. If you can’t find it in your local stores, go to blackstar.co.uk and I can 99% guarantee they will have it! Go on re-live your youth!
