Adam and Joe Show

Newest Review: ... rooted in the 90s, and just hearing the theme music strips away the years and it's like I'm a teenager again. "Warning: The Adam and Joe Show is a high density programme. Start taping now." The Beck cutout head lurking in amongst the mass of cultural artefacts that forms their speedily assembled set, sums it up for me. I am only reviewing this because I love love love love love it so much, and want everybody to give it a try so that they can share the joy. I have been going on and on to all of my friends about this recently, and feeling 17 again; but there is more here than just nostalgia and cultural commentary, it is true br... more

I just can't enthuse enough about how much I love this TV show. If you're considering getting the DVD or checking out the shows on 4oD, either because you didn't see it first time round or just to re-live the joy, you won't be disappointed. I recently watched all 4 series, and just couldn't stop. I really think their quirky brand of humor has to be seen to be appreciated. They are probably most well known for their spoofs of blockbuster films and popular TV shows of the era, made using stuffed toys and/or starwars figurines. Their songs are another notable highlight, with classics like "bobby di nero" and "the footy song" ...  Read the complete review

The ‘Adam and Joe show’ started several years ago (I think 4) with two students in their bedroom. The show was cheap, cheerful and very very funny. Channel four put it in the night-time slots. Where it languished away watched only by T.V. junkies and those in the know. Just as it started to grow in popularity the duo left university, entering the real world and “ending the show for ever”. 18 months later their back, given a comparatively primetime slot, only 11 o’ clock on Wednesday night. I’m still a fan, but they’ve lost something. Some of the cutting edge humour and side splitting antics have been moderately toned down. ...  Read the complete review

For a few years now Adam and Joe have been quietly knocking out a unique brand of lo-fi comedy on Channel 4 in a 11 O'clock time slot. The latest series can be seen on Wednesday's at 11 whihc seems a poor slot for the pair when they're ideally suited to the great friday night slot. Still there's a lot of funny stuff happening which you need to see but there's also some stuff that doesn't work for me. First up there's more parodys of films and tv programmes using soft toys and mainly star wars figures. Recent spoofs have seen The Royle Family complete with Jabba The Hut as Jim complete with scraggy beard and dirty ...  Read the complete review

The Adam and Joe show (Channel 4 and E4) I started watching Adam and Joe a while back on channel 4 and while we were offered really old series of American Comedy Sitcoms like Friends and Frasier i felt that none of them really appealed to me as a "Comedy Sitcom" Until i watched the ever so funny Adam and Joe Show!! Wahey!!! something fresh and new and yet its side splitting hilarious with the intro starting off with Adam and Joe moving into this room where they start off with various posters and wardrobes and within 20 seconds they have the room they present their show in Thas what i call an intro and the best bit is!! ...  Read the complete review
