Advantages: DIY comedy at its finest

Disadvantages: Obviously will not be to everyones tastes

Okay, you know who you are out there, stand up all you ashamed and guilty people out there who has never seen an episode of the "Adam and Joe Show"? Where have you been? And how could you have missed three brilliant series' of it? But never fear, because if you subscibe to E4, the new Channel 4 channel you will be able to see the so far, so fantastic fourth series of "The Adam and Joe Show".

Enough of the lecturing, for all those not in the know, the "Adam and Joe Show" is basically about two guys with nothing better to do than to sit in their bedrooms coming up with madcap schemes and ideas, composing comical songs about football and getting up in the morning, and creating spoofs of well known films and TV shows using their stuffed toy collection. And that, in a nutshell is basically what the "A&J Show" is all about. Oh and genius comedy as well that is. You will laugh, you will be impressed, you will wish you'd came up with the same basic idea: grab a video camera and film every silly and crazy thing you do. Highlights of ths show include "Room 4 Change" which involves an innocent man letting Adam and Joe destroy his dining room with their um, original design, "Emergency Play Room" a spoof on "ER" starring action men dolls and toy rabbits, "50 per cent Free" featuring Adam and Joe causing havoc in a supermarket by taking all the free percentages of the products on sale, and the "Football Song" with its catchy chorus and inspirational lyrics (e.g. "When I go see Villa, my views is blocked by a concrete pillar"). Adam and Joe also perform "dont-try-this-at-home" experiments such as putting things like a CD in a microwave and watching what happens - funnier than it sounds! Then there is the regular spot "Vinyl Justice" where Adam and Joe pick on a celebrity and nose through their record and cd collections, laughing at what sad taste
in music they all have.

There is also a regular feature from Adam's dad, better known as "Baad Dad", who reviews recent single releases and takes a few trips to festivals, and experiments with pot (a truly humerous moment!). Advice comes from Louise, who treats us to his guides on such life-matters as going to urinals and what to do at parties. Also included in the "A&J" show is Ken Korda, a film director who tells the viewer how to write and create a film, to hilarious consequences. Look out for the part when they audition people, and manage to recruit the worst actors in the world onto the film, the aptly named "Speeding on the Needlebliss".

Above all, the "A&J Show" is funny as hell, and the latest series is turning out to be as good as the first three series. Anyone who saw the recent spoof on "American Beauty" shown in "The A&J Show" will surely agree with this. But if you're still a stranger to the wonderful world of Adam and Joe then get watching while you can.

It's one of those series I've managed to miss entirely, but you've convinced me to give it a go next time around. :)
