Air Crash Investigation (Air Crash Investigation)

Advantages: Compelling and realistic viewing Disadvantages: Not for the faint hearted with fear of flying Air Crash Investigation does exactly as it says, it investigates air crashes from years ago to recent ones trying to establish the causes and i have to say it is compelling viewing. Quite stupidly i first watched this with being quite a nervous flyer and about to go on holiday but it is more about the facts than trying to shock. It features re-enactments of actual air crashes using data from the cockpit voice recorders usually recovered from the black box flight recorders found in-tact after aircrashes. Whilst most of the people in this are actors making a re-run of the crash it sometimes features real life survivours telling their story if it is crash where people survived. To realise just how sensitive planes can be is fascinating and how such small measures can lead to such devastation is amazing. You'll be truly blown away by this series if you are one for real life documentaries. Experts reveal in each episode how they piece together the evidence before giving their theories on how the crash occured. So far over 6 series have been made and each episode is completely individual. The special effects showing the crashes happening are sensational. For the faint hearted with a huge fear of flying this may not be for you but if you can i suggest you watch it. Makes fantastic viewing. Can be found on Sky National Geographic Channel or the Discovery Channel. Summary: Brilliant |
