AirportNewest Review: ... of drug trafficking, the cameras kept rolling - give the woman some privacy damn it! This show must have put so many people off flying anywhere, as it gives you the misguided idea that when you go to the airport you will lose your baggage, be cavity searched for drugs, sit next to a drunk, have your flight delayed, and be told about the delay by a camp fat man wearing glasses! IN CONCLUSION: Docu-drama gone mad, Airport is a terrible show that repeats the same content over and over again. If you liked it, you'll probably enjoy programmes that do the same, like 'Big Brother'.... more |

WHAT IS IT ABOUT: Fly on the wall documentaries hit an all time low as we get to follow the day to day running of Heathrow and Gatwick airports. From baggage control to check-in, air hostesses to pilots, it's all here, in this half hour show. IS IT ANY GOOD: No! It's not any good. It was OK for a one off, but a whole series? Who watched this thing? You basically get to see an array of angry and let down customers who complain to camp staff (yes I'm thinking of Jeremy, or 'fat Jeremy' as he was known in my house). Complaint after complaint fills the whole show, as you start to believe you could do a better job of running an airport ... Read the complete review

For some reason I love the BBC's Airport. It shows you all sorts of problems and things that happen in airports. It shows you the illigal immigrants that try and get in to the country, and also the great thing they do, where they don't compar your face to the passport, they take you photo and compare that tp your passport. Also missing baggage and passengers, along with accidents that the paramedics have to attend to and sort out whilst trying to get them onto their flight. I think that Airport put some names to shame tho, such as easyJet, I have travelled with easyJet and they wern't as bad as Airport make out. I think it's a ... Read the complete review

Airports. Funny places. Planes come. Planes go. People do much the same - come and go. In an ideal world. But falling back from that picture, lets analyse how airports really work. You arrive, hot and tired from a long journey. Fight to park the car, gasph at the £5 per hour car park fee, tell the kids to stop fighting and then wander around like dazed ants trying to find the right terminal / check in combination. OK, doing well so far. But the best is yet to come. The waiting. For HOURS and HOURS due to delayed flights. Refreshments - more like fast food without the 'fast' and value options added in. My point is, we've all been ... Read the complete review

I am not a great one for watching television. In fact compared to most people I don’t bother with it very much. There are a few programmes however that I will never voluntarily miss and “Airport” is one of them. This, at times very funny docusoap on the workings of Heathrow Airport, is of never ending fascination to me. This programme lasts half an hour, and is usually on a Thursday after Eastenders. There has been several series made. Subject matter has included all aspects of the work of the cabin crew, the airport emergency services, immigration, customs, animal welfare and shopping advisors at Heathrow Airport. Some of the airport staff ... Read the complete review

Until you have watched this programme you do not realise how much does go on and happen behind the scenes. Basically it is the life in a day at the airport showing all the things not only they but the passengers have to put up with. A great programme that makes you wonder how your holiday flight went off so well! You also get the resident photographers waiting for VIPs to arrive and depart and to see how they get the interviews and pictures for the papers. You also see imigration department and how they cope and how the airline copes with sending animals to other countries and the difficulties they have with them in small boxes etc. ...
