Advantages: They never seem to run out of ideas for the story., Guaranteed to make you laugh, Great acting from Calista Flockhart.
Disadvantages: Too much Vonda Sheppard (sorry if that offends anyone)
Now who can honestly say that they've seen Ally McBeal, and didn't laugh once? The show is based around Ally McBeal, a 'top class lawyer' and her experience that is life. She starts off by sueing a man at her law firm for sexual harrassment, as grabbed her bum several times. Things don't go well when the man tells the court that he has a compulsive disorder, and can't help it. Ally of course quits her job, only to be offered one at a firm owned by her old school pal, Richard - a strange quirky man, who is only after the 'piles'. There, she finds out that not only is she working with her old sweetheart, Billy, but he is defending her. Billy and Ally were in love, and some people believe, still are, but he left her to go and study somewhere else. She is devastated to find out that he is married to a blond, beautiful woman, who is also a lawyer, and works with them. Ally is cute, Ally is funny, Ally is, well, Ally, and after watching this comedy show, you grow to love her and her strange, imaginative hallucinations and dreams. (And yes i really do believe she saw the unicorn.)

- 04/06/01 I think John is brilliant what with his Barry White moments! The only thing that put me off was when they started to put some dodgy sex stuff in to it. I haven't watched it since but I was hooked initially. |
