Advantages: +Entertaining

Disadvantages: -Not really a serious high fashion modelling programme

Rather self explanatory reality TV.
That's all it is however.
Reality TV.
Not to say it isn't entertaining.

The whole process is widely glamorous (or not in some cases) and who wouldn't want to watch girls bitch to each other with an aggressive background track.
The tension has had me near tears, and I have always found myself attached to at least one model per cycle, and rooting them on when they succeed with a stunning photo, and screaming when they fail at go-sees (really, actual screaming).

However, when this show tries to fob itself off as one that will find "America's Next Top Model", this is just a facade.
The magazine Seventeen and Covergirl cosmetics which back ANTM, aren't very high fashion, thus won't get the contestants into serious modelling in my opinion.
The most successful of the models so far have been the ones that haven't won, ones that have been scouted without Tyra's help.
Most of the winners so far, in my eyes have been winners undeservedly (although this may be the dodgy editing)

Summary: All in all: relaxing trash tv.
