American Dad is an animated tv series from the same creator as Family Guy. The two are quite similar in the sense that they're both adult animations, but American Dad has proven to be different enough to be appreciated for its own original story lines, sense of humour and characters.

American Dad is about an all American guy called Stan Smith who works as an agent for the C.I.A. and has a family. He's got a wife named Francine, a son named Steve and older daughter Hayley. Both his kids are in their teens and many of their teenage problems are featured in the episodes. They also have a talking goldfish named Claus who used to be a German spy and an alien called Roger, who is living in the family's attic as he is hiding from the C.I.A. because they found him and wanted to keep him prisoner to do testing on him. Roger has a serious drinking problem and longs for human contact, this is why he likes to dress up in one of his many disguises so that he can go out and live amongst humans quite often.

This animated series is now in it's 4th season in the US and has seen loads of ratings and has gained many fans. It's an adult cartoon that covers many humorous topics that sometimes border on going that little too far but is very amusing. If you like Family Guy and South Park, you should definitely give this a go as it's in the same vain and will keep you entertained and laughing with each episode.
