Advantages: Engaging and well acted

Disadvantages: Not on anymore

As If was a programme on channel 4 and in some ways was very much a fore runner to Skins in that it dealt with similar issues however overall there was less drug taking in the show.

It was a drama series that followed the lives of six London teenagers and the events that happened to them. Just like Slins they managed to cover all of the demographic and sexual options so you had Alex played by Orlando Wells who was the openly gay member of the group, Jamie played by Paul Chequer who is a nice guy and currently dating one of the group and the other males character is Rob played by Ben Waters who works in a local cae and had issues with his home life.

The three girls are Sooz played by Emily Corrie who is a bit of a rebel who hides her insecurity behind outlandish clothes and makeup and a cynical outlook. She ends up dating Jamie. Sasha is a talented black singer who has been dating Rob however she is also cheating on him as well and finally there is Nicki played by Jemima Rooper who is a bit of a tramp and rather shallow.

I used to really enjoy this programme, the acting was good and the storylines were far more realistic than the ones you now see in Skins. It was quite a serious programme with few attempts at humour but it was also engaging and I liked to watch it each week when it was on.

Summary: Good C4 teen drama.
