It was first broadcast on Channel 31 in Melbourne through RAT-TV , which later became Yarra Access, from October 1994 to January 1999. Since October 2000, Asylum has changed from a fortnightly program to a weekly Program that airs on Channel 31 each Tuesday night at 11:00pm and repeated Thursday at 12:30am and Saturday nights at 11:00pm and is one of the highest rating Music shows on Channel 31.
