Advantages: Chic and modern with realistic chars.

Disadvantages: Too much sex. Just another drama, not that original.

The only thing that really sets Attachments apart from all the other drama’s on telly at the moment is the set up, an Internet company (ran by a group of six or so twenty something’s) just starting out, is quite different from anything else currently showing. It makes the show very up to date and quite cool and hip, as I expect the makers planned.

Most of the storylines are orientated around relationships, and more commonly, sex. This no doubt earns quite a lot of viewers, though it does get a little boring when they use it as the theme so often. The only other theme that’s ever used is money, or more specifically, the lack of it.

For most of the part, the people are very arrogant, unpleasant and extremely immature. And the actors that play them are not particularly talented. But in my opinion they are quite realistic and 3D characters that are very easy to relate to, even though they act like a gang of little kids most of the time.

Overall, the programme is highly enjoyable and very addictive, but I think unless you really love this kind of relationship drama you probably won’t go mad for it. From a personal POV, it is just my sort of thing. I love the chic, modernised feel is has, the clever camera shots and the wonderful way the characters interact.

It currently on its sixth episode out of ten, with this week’s episode, shown on Tuesday, repeated on Friday night. I’d definitely recommend checking it out. Like I said before, the storylines, although on going, are fairly simple, so it shouldn’t be to hard catching up, even though you will have missed quite a few episodes.
