Advantages: Fantastic storylines, great characters

Disadvantages: Not on terrestial TV at the moment, addictive (can be a disadvantage if you don't want to get hooked!)

Babylon 5 - perhaps the most impressive story I have ever seen or heard or read. I remember when I first sat down and watched an episode. It was from the fourth season and even though I had no real idea of the story arc, the central theme, I became hooked.

Like someone else mentioned on here, B5 is full of story lines which, while set in the future, are actually a part of our lives today. Racism, War, Drugs are but a few of the issues followed as the story unfolds.

This is perhaps why I feel that B5 is not just for those who are really into science fiction. Its set inthe future, but its not so far removed from reality that it cannot be believed.

Overall the series, in my opinion, is one of the best that has ever been written. With superb acting, provocative story lines and amusing characters to back it up B5 is a must for anyone wanting to watch something good on TV on any night of the week.
