Advantages: The early storylines

This tv show, Bad Girls, at one point, used to be my favourite ITV drama, however towards the end, it just got silly, and I lost interest, which was a shame.

The premis of the show is about a womens prison, and each episode follows the lives of both the female inmates and the prison officers that guard them. The show deals with the relationships between the two sets of characters, and includes high drama and emotion. This isnt a show for younger views, at all, often containing strong language, violence, and some sex scenes.

From the very begining, I was hooked by this show, some of my favourite characters included Jim Fenner, the evil prison officer, the two julies, who often provided light comedy to the show.

It ran for eight series, and had some one off specials. The later christmas special towards the end was one of the best episodes that they ever did. The good thing about this show is that, although it did feature long term characters, being a prison, there was often new characters introducted to the show all of time, so it was a change, and a pleasant one at that.

If you missed the show, the you can buy it on DVD, or watch the repeats of Fiver. I miss the 9pm show on ITV, but it was good while it lasted.
