#Boolaamooreee booollaa morreee ... Whats the story in Balamory wouldnt you like to know.....# god that song gives me goosebumps every time it comes on, maybe its because my tv's volume is so loud or just because its a kind of exciting programme. As soon as theme tune starts my 1 year old niece would stop in her tracks and just stare at the tv till the theme tune finishes then look at me and give me a great big grin :) Every character in Balamory lives in a different coloured house, so the colours can be associated with the characters. There is always a problem in Balamory - a minor one revolving usually around Miss Hoolee (the narrator and ...  Read the complete review

Balamory is a brilliant childrens show and i must confess to having sat through a few episodes my self. I thought balamory was a fictional set but have been informed by a friend that this is actually a real little village in scotland called tobermurry, how true this is i dont realy know so sorry if it is wrong. Every day there is something different happening in balamory but always featuring miss hooley, the nursery teacher. There are a lot of other great characters too, archie the inventor who lives in a pink castle, josie jump who lives in a yellow house, pc plumb, edey mccreedy who drives the school bus and lots of others but im ...  Read the complete review

CBeeebies - the speciality kid's TV arm of the BBC came in for some over-the-top criticism recently, in a newspaper article that claimed the programming output was too politically correct for its own good. The apparently harmless "it's time for lunch" jingle that they play every day around 12 noon for example was singled out for making reference to such dinnertime dishes as 'poppadums and peas', 'guacamole' and 'lots of pilau rice' - all of which the reviewer seemed to think were a bit too right-on to be borne, which in itself came across as somewhat daft attitude, considering that the kids who watch CBeebies live in a multicultural society, ...  Read the complete review

Having a newly television addict of a son whose 20 months I have to say that of late I have overdosed a bit on the children's channel CBeebies. This morning we watched Balamory, hence why I have chosen to review it here are my thoughts. First a brief outline of the show, it is based in a fictional town in Scotland called Balamory. It centres on the lives of 8 fictional characters that live there. Each episode there is a different story to be told where they have to solve a problem. Today it was Miss Hoolie asks Josie Jump to teach the children line dancing, but who will teach Josie? The Characters Miss Hoolie To ...  Read the complete review

Thanks to my little boy's liking for dragging his daddy out of bed early, a few months back I discovered one of the real gems of the CBeebies collection , the wondrous community of Balamory. Then I discover that alas the powers that be have already pulled the plug on this colourful adventure land and they finally stopped making new episodes in April 2005 - but how could they do that with so many questions that desperately need answers - let me elaborate.... ****Basic Outline**** Essentially, the show is made up of a collection of larger than life and reasonably lovable characters who all live and work in the fictional Scottish fishing ...  Read the complete review
