I may be past the age range of 3-7 years for BBC show Balamory, though it does not stop me enjoying it when my siblings decide to watch it (and perhaps once or twice on my own too!). But what is this fantastic show all about?

Balamory, filmed on the island of Tobermory, is a bright and colourful chidlrens' tv show based in a fictional town called Balamory. Each story starts with the nursery teacher Miss Hoolie (Julie Wilson-Nimmo) asking what the story in Balamory is. Each story starts with either a nursery day, or a Play day. We are also told the weather too, which is great for children to interact with.

If it is a nursery day, the nursery children go into the nursery, where they will be visited by another character from Balamory. On a Play day, Miss Hoolie usually has plans for great adventures such as going to the beach or having a picnic.

The other characters all live in different coloured houses. Those in the show include Penny Pocket and Susie Sweet (red house Sweet Shop), Spencer (orange house), Archie the inventor (pink house), PC Plum (white house!!), Josie Jump (yellow house) and Edie McCredie (blue house). In each story a character will ask the children which coloured house they will go to in order to solve their mystery.

This show is on CBeebies quite a few times through the day. Unfortunately for us with bigger memories, it is the same episode, though its good for little children as they like repetition and routine.

This is a fantastic, fun entertaining programme aimed at small children, and is educational too. Though there is no reason why we more 'mature' people can't enjoy it!

You rock...When I had a TV, and well over the age of 4, I still watched and loved it. I watched it even when I was 22.
