Advantages: some programs talk about real life
Disadvantages: the charactors are disturbing
This programme is very popular with children of pre school age, my son now hates it!
The basis of the programme is that there are different colour houses and different people live in the different colours.
There is Miss Hooley who runs the nursery and she lives in the green house.
Josey Jump who lives in the yellow house and she likes to do sports and in my opinium is highly irritating!
Spencer who lives in the orange house who likes to paint and do art, he seems the most sane person in the whole of balamory.
PC Plum, lives in the white house, I think he always seems quite disturbing as a policeman, especially when he sings the words I'll tell you all about the birds and bees...hmmm!!
Archie lives in the pink house, he is a english inventor who wears a kilt and pink clothes...hmm is this a subtle way of taking the p*** out of the english?!
Edie Mgcredie lives in the blue house, she drives a bus and is like woman with bad hrt symtoms, namely the forgetfulness!
And finally (I think) there is suzy and I think the other lady is polly? They have a shop in the red house, Polly is in a wheelchair and seems another almost sane person out of a load of looneys! However suzy seems positively off her trolley!
As you can probably tell I dislike balamory I don't feel it has been very thought out and although they do teach ethics I feel that bob or tweenies teach these ethics better. The program can get confusing for children and highly irritating for adults!
Summary: Thank god my son hates it too!
