Advantages: Its great, Its a good show, the cylons are scary

Disadvantages: its old, the special effects are a bit dated, Robots get rust easily

Battlestar is simply the best sci fi program there ever was on terrestrial TV. I havent watched it for a few years now but I can recall avidly sitting in front of the television, remote control poised in my hand waiting for it to come on. The special effects are a bit dated by todays standards, however I loved the plot lines and the general story which also had an underlying parallel with the producers religious beliefs(mormon). My favourite characters were starbuck and Adam, for me they made the whole show and the cylons were the best robot enemies since Dr Who and the Daleks. My favourite episode was the ship of lights episode although I never really got to see it completely..something to do if I ever have some spare time.
Another thing I liked about this series was its attention to detail in creating a completely alternate universe.. this included such lengths the writers went to as inventing games that the people might engage in in the future setting, and having different units of measurement of time, currency, power and virtually everything.

They did also make a sequal version on a much reduced budget, called Galactica 1980 where the Galactica finally discovers Earth, but that wasnt very good and I wouldnt recommend it.

Its great see the whole series if you havent already.
