Advantages: actors, special effects, creative storylines

Disadvantages: none, none, none

Battlestar Galactica was the best sci-fi show of the 70's. This show had a great cast of known and soon to be known actors.
How could anyother show at that time beat a cast that consisted of Loren Greene(Bonanza), Anne Lockhart(daughter of June Lockhart), Jane Seymore(Dr. Quinn), Noah Hathaway(Neverending Story), and many others.
Along with guest stars such as Lloyd Bridges, Fred Astire, and Patrick McNee(The Avengers).
The special effects were terrific. This show had the state of the art technology in the 70s. This show also had creative storylines and characters that made you want to watch episode after episode.
I would have to say that my favorite character on there was Lt. Sheba played by Anne Lockhart. Her character showed how strong a woman could be under pressure and that a woman can be very good in combat. Sheba also seemed to keep her femmine side also even though she was an officer.
In all, I would have to say that Battlestar Galactica was and will always be a sci-fi classic for years to come.

It was really just a rip-off cash-in riding on the Star Wars hype. It looks very old now. But there are rumours of a brand new TV movie or mini-series being made, using as many of the original actors as possible.
