Disadvantages: Cheap effects

The human race wiped out in a suprise attack by the Cylons and the journey to find the 13th colony of man earth set the scene for one of the best Sci-fi series for a while.

Cheap special effects, repeat scenes made this a cult following. The galactica itsel was a huge Battleship described as a Carrier in space.

The cylons were machines, mortal enemy of man lead by Baltar who only wish was to destroy the galactica and the fleet it protected.

There is talk of a new movie, lets hope this happens.
