Beauty and the geek is relatively new to me and since I discovered it I have now watched 2 seasons of it. I find it to be the most annoying but highly entertaining show that is on TV and it seems to capture my full attention every time. This even meant that last week I didn't go to see my in laws on time because I wanted watch it so that is how sad I am. Here is why I think it is at least worth a watch.

The actual show has a simple premise, it brings together about 10 girls (and once one guy) who are beautiful and have such jobs such as Hooters girl or model. Then you also have 10 guys who are considered geeks so they6 have very high SAT scores or are extremely into things such as computers. They bring them all together into a house and put them into pairs so hence you have a beauty and the geek.

The idea of the game is that each episode shows 2 challenges, one for the girls and one for the boys. The challenges are meant to switch each persona so for example the girls will get something like sorting through garbage to do some recycling. The guys however have had challenges such as buy the girl an outfit to wear for an occasion.

There are also team challenges which include things such as rescuing the girls from a burning building and acting a soap opera scene. All of the tasks are hilarious though as you watch the guys try to be cool and the girls try to be geeky. Yes it is a very silly premise for a show and teh tasks are stupid but the main thing is that they are funny.

Then when you have won a task you are free from elimination and get to choose another 2 couples to send into the scary elimination room. This is where the 2 pairs get asked questions and the one that gets the most right gets to stay in the house. That is about as much to tell you about how the show works as it is purely as simple as that!

As you can imagine with all of these beautiful girls in one house living together it does get quite bitchy so this is funny and just watching the guys be around girls is hilarious. The show plays on the 2 personas and by the end of the series you hope that the girls have learnt to be a little less vain and the guys have learnt a little bit about women but this sometimes does not happen.

The host of the show is a guy called Mike Richards who is very over the top and keeps the tension up with his quirky jokes and the twists and turns of the show. How exciting! He is very funny andI think he acts like he finds his job hilarious and not like some of the shows where the host seems to take it way too seriously when they really shouldn't. I like him!

There is no point in telling you about each contestant as they change every series but they are all wonderful to watch. My favourite was a girl called Jasmine who genuinely liked her geeky partner and they stayed friends afterwards which is nice. The game allows you to win a $250000 so a lot of money so there is plenty of competition between the contestants.

So the show is cheesy, simple and entertaining, is there anything bad about this show? Unfortunately just one thing and that is the music. Why is it in shows like this they persist in playing music for every second of the show. Seriously look out for it it will drive you mad. I don't see the point in it and this is the one thing that annoys me about watching it. If it didn't have the annoying build up music all the way through then it would be perfect.

In conclusion I think Beauty and the geek is hilarious and definitely worth watching. It is on at about 10am on Sunday on E4 when nothing else is on so I always watch it. I will give it 4 stars as it is great but the music does really annoy me. I have managed to get my sister, husband and mom into watching this so go on give yourself in to some cheesy fun!
