You know that show Stars In Their Eyes on Saturday evenings? Well it mught just be me but I'm sure that show has been on since the dawn of time and actually has never been any good, all it does is giev birth the the careers of glorified pub singers on the clubs and cruises circuit. You could also say that it was the pre-cursor for the likes of Pop Idol etc, at least Pop Idol is good for a laugh in the audition stages. Anyway trust MTV to give this kind of concept a youth spin. The show offers fans the chance to become their pop idols by learning the dance steps, wearing the clothes and getting to mimic their star in a reproduction of the artists most popular ...  Read the complete review

After noticing a couple of opinions on this program I felt compelled to write my own. The program revolves around a person or group of people who have been chosen to emulate their favourite popstar. It starts with these people being surprised by their friends who tell them that they are going to be on the show. This is probably the most exciting part of the program and it all goes rapidly downhill from here. Basically what it is about is that for example choosing Destiny's Child they would pick 4 girls that had written in wanting to do this and then go visit them and tell them they are in. I think sometimes the chosen ones can be very stupid, not to be racist or anything but they are to be very exact to and for Dream they chose a chinese girl to be the fairest one in the band and she has blonde hair and blue eyes, then they were saying oh you look so like her when she didn't. Another disadvantage to the Dream video is they made it look so cheap something different about the quality and the beach scene was done indoors ...  Read the complete review

For years MTV was the bastion of the modern rebellious teenager. From right when it started in the 80’s it represented what was young about the world. It was on the leading edge of modern cultures and played nothing but the hits. Then along came sky digital with its mass of Music channels and MTV became defunct. If you want rock music you had MTV2, if you wanted RnB you had MTV Base, if you want pop you have MTV Hits, the Box and Smash Hits, if you want classical music (god only knows those that would want this) you can order Dclassics (I think it is called this but I haven’t watched it in a long time). What specialism could MTV provide? ...  Read the complete review
