After noticing a couple of opinions on this program I felt compelled to write my own. I will start by saying that I hate this program with a passion and believe that it is mindless drivel used only to fill up the program schedule.

The program revolves around a person or group of people who have been chosen to emulate their favourite popstar. It starts with these people being surprised by their friends who tell them that they are going to be on the show. This is probably the most exciting part of the program and it all goes rapidly downhill from here.

The lucky chosen one then gets to impersonate their star of choice. they get a makeover and costume to look like the star (but they generally don't quite achieve this)and then lip-sync to a track by that artist, they are recorded replicating one of the stars music videos . They are taught a few dance moves (but not enough to confuse them).

They are usually left a message by the star and given some goodies that have some relevance to who they are going to be.

The reason for my intense dislike of this program is that I feel it is very difficult to justify the use of airtime on someone miming along to someone who probably mimes on stage anyway. There is no excitement to it and it is quite disturbing to see adults playing 'dress up and lets pretend'.

At best this program is mindless hangover watching, at worst it is a sad indictment on the entertainment industry. It is probably great fun for children to watch but don't let them watch too much of it, it may melt their brains.

For those of you that I haven't put off, this program airs on Staurday mornings on SMTV (ITV) and on MTV.
