My little sister is 2 and she loves Ben And Hollys Little Kingdom because it's a cute and fun tv programme for young children.

Holly is a fairy princess who is just starting to learn magic and her best friend is an elf called Ben. Every episode they have adventures together that dont seem like very exciting adventures but I reckon for the age of the kids who are going to be watching this programme it is just right.


Nanny Plum is Hollys nanny and she teaches her the magic and how to use her wand properly. She's very bossy but just as loveable as Ben and Holly I reckon, shes very good at magic but sometimes gets it wrong and then it's funny because Nanny Plum hates being proved wrong about things.

King and Queen Thistle are Hollys mum and dad and they are both fairies who can do magic. The king is a right moaner and in one episode he gets a cold and then he's just like any other normal bloke and stayed in bed with man flu even though it was just a cold. I think some of the things the characters say are very funny and make the programme appeal to even grown ups because there are some jokes in there that little kids won't understand but adults will like the man flu thing.

The Wise Old Elf is brill and I love his character because he is the tailor, the doctor, the vet and everything else that you need a clever professional for. I reckon that's why he's called Wise because he does everything and is even MC-ing the elf games in the episode we're watching at the minute.

The characters are all drawn to look as cute as possible and I love the rosy cheeks on the fairies and elves because they are just scribbles on their cheeks and look so sweet. Gaston is a ladybird and he is Bens pet, he doesn't do or say a lot but Ben rides on his back and sometimes he helps them with their adventures by flying to the rescue .

I think this is a lovely programme for kids and is a bit old fashioned in a way but that's good because it's nice and gentle for little kids to watch and it might help to teach them about being friends and how to treat other people.
