Advantages: Watching snooker pros in a different light.

Disadvantages: The theme tune.

Big Break is a very easy to watch and non mentally challenging general knowdledge show combined with the very exacting sport (or game) of snooker.

From the eyes of the non snooker playing contestants, all they have to do is answer a few easy questions and act as the punchball for jim davidsons jokes.

For the snooker pros however there must be real tension as they are playing to win prizes for someone else. Very often the present World champion is beaten by up and coming pros and you can sense there delight. The show is also an oppurtunity to re meet pros of the past.

John Virgo is Jim Davidsons dry sidekick, and provides weekly entertainment with his trick shot.

The programme is the benile type of viewing that is suitable for the whole family to watch together, with children enjoying the competition and adults the humour. I do wish however they would change the annoying chas and dave theme tune.
