Almost every TV station worldwide has an early morning breakfast show.These are designed to help ease us in to our day with interesting issues,fun and the headline news that we are waking up to.

Channel4 is no exception,It has it's own style of breakfast show "Big Breakfast", Its aimed mainly at the teen and middle age viewer and its on Channel 4 from 7am until 9am.

It has two main presenters, which since it has started quite a few years back have been a prominent male presenter and a female presenter, some of the past presenters have been,Chris Evans,the late Paula Yates, Vanessa Feltz and Gabby Roslin.

The big breakfast is set in a house,and does come across as a relaxed atmosphere. They do provide the headline news, which does not go into detail, its just gives you a taster of the news stories you would be watching on other channels.

A while back after a long succession of different presenters, channel4 had Johnny Vaugh and Denise van Outen presenting the show.
They were very successful, they managed to keep the light heartedness of the show as well being serious about certain topics.
But the show has always been known for not being serious,wild and wacky,
for instance one of the games on the show was "LADY IN A TABARD" which consisted of knocking on peoples doors to see if the lady of the house owned a tabard(overall) and if she did, would she parade it on national TV! Pure mindless entertainment, but it was given to the viewer in such a way they could handle at that early time of the morning.

Denise and Johnny were so popular and had such a chemistry between them that they even released a song for charity, which soared up the charts...

The Big Breakfast have since replaced their presenters, and they now have
Richard Bacon and Amanda Byron.
They have tried to keep the tone of the show on the same level as it has been in the past, Wacky humour, fun games a
nd such.
Sadly these presenters fail to deliver a high standard of humour which is what the show prides itself on.

It seems now to be more aimed at personnel insults to try and achieve laughs,
for example, one morning Richard Bacon was doing a review of the days stories in the papers, and there was an article about a young lad aged 5 who had passed his GCSE's, Richard then went on in his own words to say how dull the boy is and so on....everyone was laughing along with him, which made me wonder if they had no one to laugh at where would the jokes come from?

The show now consists of poor condescending humour, and the presenters seemly congratulating themselves on how clever and famous they are.

I enjoy a good laugh and am in no way a prude, but I enjoy jokes that are genuinely funny.

To anyone that may not have seen this show I would say, you are not missing much, and I would not recommend this show to anyone.
